Korede Bello is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He is signed under Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records and is loved by a lot of fans for his good boy next door looks and songs. He broke into the Nigerian music industry when he was featured in the Mavin All Star song Dorobucci in which he was featured alongside his other label mates.

And then, his hit track Godwin subsequently sealed his place in the heart of fans.

Biography And Age

Korede Bello was born on 29th of February 1996 in Lagos, Nigeria. As a child, he showed a strong interest in Dance and Music, teaching himself to play many instruments.

At 7, he began performing on stages and entered his school talent competition at the age of 13, and placed first. Taking on singing and performing as a career path, Korede always participated in social activities such as acting, dancing and even singing competitions and represents his school in inter-school competitions. He formed his first music group with a friend in primary six and also wrote his first song.

On 28 February 2014, he was discovered and signed a recording and distribution deal with Mavin Records. His first single, “African Princess”, was a country hit and then his first collaboration with label mates titled “Dorobucci” became a continental hit and was certified Platinum in YouTube views (Famously known for the “Korede Bello Wink”).

He draws a lot of inspiration from Asa and Tuface, and his genre is soul music.

The rising star said his name Korede means a harbinger of good tidings and thus, he would want music fans listening to his music to feel blessed and happy. The young singer is yet to have an album of his own.

Career

Mavins crew

He released a song called ‘Forever’ and people loved after which he was introduced to Don Jazzy’s friends. They were also astounded by what they heard and they now linked him to Don Jazzy. He invited them to the studio with his manager, Casmir, they recorded some songs and that was it. When Don Jazzy heard his song, he said that he was a mega superstar and that was it.

Korede Bello got signed under Mavin Records where he released his first single titled “African Princess.” which featured Don Jazzy. He was signed to the label on February 28, 2014.

After his performance in Mavins Dorobucci “Dorobucci” (with Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, Dr SID, D’Prince, Reekado Banks and Di’Ja) his fan base tripled and his popularity increased. He is especially popular for the wink, known as the Korede Wink, which has the ladies going crazy.

Korede believes first of all, that the more alcohol-free you are, the better your health and the happier you become. Secondly, that having a clean lifestyle attracts less drama, and that exercising, planning, eating good food and being positive always will make you happy.

In 2015, Korede Bello released a banging hit single titled: Godwin a song classified to be semi-gospel and semi-pop by fans, the single is considered one of the biggest hits in 2015 as the single topped many charts for weeks. That increased his fan base in Nigeria and abroad.

He has also featured in “Adaobi” (with Don Jazzy, Reekado Banks and Di’Ja), “Cold Outside,” “Looku Looku” (with Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, Dr SID, D’Prince, Reekado Banks and Di’Ja), “Jingle Bell,” “Jantamanta” (with Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, Dr SID, D’Prince, Reekado Banks and Di’Ja), “Romantic” (with Tiwa Savage), “Mungo Park,” and “One & Only.”

In MID 2015 Korede got the privilege of performing at the presidential inauguration dinner which can be said to be quite an achievement.

Awards and Endorsements

He won the Indigenous & Revelation of the Year and Tush All Youth Awards 2011. He also won the Most Wanted Artiste, Hype Award 2012, the R ‘N’ B SINGLE (Male) Yem Awards 2012, as well as the Young Promoter of Cultural Heritage, The Gong Africa News Magazine 2012.

Korede Bello signed a multimillion naira endorsement deal with popular telecom company GLO on the 1st of July 2015, making him one of the certified ambassadors of Glo.

Is He Dating? Girlfriend

Korede Bello started his music career and tasted stardom at a  very young age. Thus he hasn’t dated too many ladies just yet as he is currently focusing on his music and growing the Korede brand. However, he has been romantically linked with a beautiful lady named Azaria who happens to be quite acquainted with the Mavin crew. In a post on social media, they both posted the same picture of a kiss mark on Korede’s cheek. Azaria wrote on her Instagram page “I finally could kiss you, baby,” and Korede shared the same photo in his account.

Family, Siblings

Information about his family is pretty scanty but the bit we know shows that he comes from a tight-knit family of just three children including himself. That is, he has an older brother and younger sister. Just like him, his sister hopes to make it big in music like her big brother, stating that she has loved music ever since she was a kid and would love to follow the music path professionally.
