Why i don't consider myself a feminist anymore - Dj Cuppy

Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola popularly known as DJ Cuppy has drawn the ire of women who identify as feminists after she says she doesn’t consider herself one anymore.

The billionaire’s daughter sat down for an interview with City FM and there she said she doesn’t feel she understands the concept and that she believes that she can’t change the way men think about women, on the other hand, what she can do is focus on her own dreams and aspirations and live an empowered life.

She said: “I used to consider myself a feminist until I realised that I really didn’t understand it. I don’t like people who are hypocrites. So people are out there speaking about women rights but behind closed doors, they are doing crazy things.

“I just feel like I would never out as a feminist because am in a male-dominated industry so I have certain scenarios i have to I deal with men on a day to day bases and I realised that they are always going to think they are better than women. I don’t believe being a feminist will change things.

Dj Cuppy likened it to how she used to be affected by those who said she was only where she is because of her father’s wealth. She said she used to be bothered until she realised that there’s really nothing she can do about the way she’s perceived and that all she could do was make an impact.
