Mr. Akoh Abuh Samuel, a final-year student of Kogi State Polytechnic, has allegedly been hacked to death by his roommate, Agba Victor.

According to The Guardian, the Higher National Diploma 1 student in Accounting Department, allegedly attacked the deceased in his room for reasons yet to be disclosed.

The unfortunate incident took place in Felele, the outskirts of the institution convocation ground.

Samuel, who studied Public Administration, was said to be Victor’s best friend.

He died while being rushed to the Kogi State Specialist Hospital, Lokoja.

According to report, the suspect feigned ignorance of what came over him when he killed his friend.

The Public Relations Officer of the institution, Mr.  Luke Yakubu said the suspect on Sunday night started acting strangely towards his roommate.

“They were best of friends since their National Diploma days and attended the same fellowship. Later that night, the deceased, oblivious of his intention, became victim as his friend used machete to kill him.

“He told us that he threw the cutlass into a well after stabbing his friend. He even came back to the room where the incident occurred. He did not run away.

“The Police are still carrying out the investigation. He was not mad when he gained admission into our institution. The so- called strange behaviour began on Sunday,” he explained.

The case has been transferred from the B Division of the Nigeria Police Force, Lokoja to the State Criminal Investigation Department.

Efforts to speak with Police Public Relations officer, Mr. William Ayah did not yield any result as he could not be reached on his line.
